Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,
Over the last two weeks St. Patrick’s has been a very busy place. Students celebrated Shrove Tuesday with beautiful pancakes that were cooked by our Parents and Friends group.
Ash Wednesday brought all students together to celebrate the start of Lent with a whole school Mass. During this Mass, ashes were blessed and distributed to students. These are made from the olive branches or branches of other trees that were blessed the previous year.
Our Year 5/6 students were lucky enough to participate in a leadership presented by The Museum of Australian Democracy. Students participated in activities and real-world examples to reflect on what leadership qualities they have, consider areas for personal development and consider how they can work together to create positive change.
The 2023 SRC students have been announced.
Congratulations to the following students:
Year 3 - Steele Baxter and Alivia Costanzo
Year 4 - Max Bartlett and Isla Dorning
Year 5 - Matilda Dower and Jaxon Rawson
Year 6 - Ella Patrick and Sonny Johnson
The 2023 Year 6 Liturgy Leaders have also been announced.
Congratulations to the following students:
Noah McLay, Nellie Bubb, Adara James, Amelia Nock, Ruby Mowat, Myles Witt, Jamieson McNicol, Chase Baxter, Ebony Bubb and Harry Rowley.
On Tuesday 22 students travelled to the Sale Swimming Pool to represent St. Patrick’s at the Heyfield and District Swimming Sports. It was fantastic to see such team spirit and determination displayed by all students on the day. We had some fantastic individual and team placings which led to St. Patrick’s claiming overall first place for the second year in a row. These 22 students will now compete on Monday in the Wellington Division Swimming Sports.
Thank you to our Parents and Friends group for organising a welcome back BBQ on Thursday evening. It was a great opportunity for families to catch up with one another as well as touring classrooms and meeting classroom teachers.
Parent Teacher interviews will take place next Tuesday 7th March and Thursday 9th March from 3.50pm until 6.00pm. Bookings can be made via PAM.
Lastly, a reminder that Friday 10th March is a student free day. On this day, staff members will have Professional Learning sessions where they will continue to develop their literacy pedagogical practice.
Kind regards,
Shane

PAM (Parent Access Module)
PAM is an innovative parent-controlled electronic medical form for our school. It provides parents with the opportunity to update medical information promptly and accurately while providing the school with instant access to the emergency information provided by you. We use the PAM in the best interests of the children whilst also reducing the burden on parents to fill out the same information on multiple forms throughout the year.
Parents can use a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone to enter details including:
- Student absence - entered via ‘Parent Notified Absences’.
- Medical checklist, including asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes
- Parent teacher interviews
- Student reports
Please note, that it is the responsibility of parents to ensure their child’s medical and contact details are up to date and complete. In the event of an emergency the school staff will rely on the information provided via PAM.
We recommend that you add the PAM website to the home screen on your mobile device which will then display as an App.
If you need your login credentials or a password reset, please email: admin@stpstratford.catholic.edu.
We still have some families who have not completed there PAM accounts.
Please remember to complete the medical profile also.
To access PAM, enter your login credentials to proceed to your account.
Thank-you to all our families who have registered your PAM Account.

Communication
St Patrick's utilises a range of communication tools to keep families informed. This includes fortnightly newsletter, class dojo, email, PAM and the school website. From time to time we will also use text messaging to contact families.
Communication is two way and staff can be contacted via front office (51 456463), email and class dojo. When the need arises to speak to a staff member in person, please be mindful of the timing, eg. If a teacher is in the room before school with other students/families around, this really isn't a good time to start a confidential conversation.
An appointment can always be made if necessary. Most importantly, don't hesitate to ask when questions arise.
Our school newsletter is uploaded to the school website every second Friday.
To subsribe to our newsletter, please go to:
www.stpstratford.catholic.edu.au
All classes use "CLASS DOJO" as a tool for positive communication between home and your child/ren's classroom. Families will be contacted with sign up details to gain access. Once you have signed up you will be able to communicate with the teacher and see what your child/ren's classroom is up to. If you have any questions regarding CLASS DOJO, pleae contact your classroom teacher.
Please note that staff will set Dojo quiet hours from 5.00pm till 8.00am and on weekends.
Medicaiton
Any medication to be administered at school requires detailed information and authority. A Medical Authority Form for communicating this information is available from the school administration office and our school website. Requests must be supported by specific written instruction including the name of the student, dosage and time to be administered and be signed off by a medical practioner.
Medical Management and Emergency Plans
Children with asthma and Anaphylaxis are required an up to date management plan (signed by a doctor). Relevant docouments must be uploaded via PAM.
For safety and accountability reasons, visitors and late/early arrivals are required to sign in and out at the front office. The Ipad is located at the front desk and allows this to be done quickly and easily.
Children arriving late or leaving early are to be signed in upon arrival or out when leaving. (This includes when returning to school from appointments).
To minimise interruption to learning time, we would appreciate if apppointments for children be kept to a minimum during school time.
If your child has an appointment during school times, as a courtesy, please email your child's teacher.
Thank-you for your co-operation.
