BOOKWEEK NEWS
Dear Families,
Bookweek Parade – The dress-up parade is a wonderful time for students (and
staff) to dress up as book characters. Please do not feel the need to spend lots
on costumes, imagination and google can be helpful!
Some ideas are –
- There are many books about sports people so football, netball soccer or
cricket gear is great. E.g. Specky Magee, Kick it to Nick, Netball Gems, Kaboom
Kids, Sam Kerr series, Joel Selwood series etc.
-Dressing in casuals is easy and many book characters are children. E.g. Baby sitters club, Ella diaries, Dirty Bertie, Treehouse series
( Terry or Andy ), Clementine Rose (wears a red bow in her hair) etc.
-School uniform – Little lunch – black shorts and red shirt, Naughtiest girl series by Enid Blyton.
We do not expect the students to have the book with them. Also many movies
have been based on books so movie characters are fine.
The theme this year is READ, GROW, INSPIRE. This theme could also be a dress-
up idea. – flowers, sports stars or someone famous who is inspiring.
I hope this helps.
