Dear Families,

This Sunday marks Palm Sunday in the Catholic Church.  It reminds us of Jesus being cheered as he entered Jerusalem, a stark contrast to the events of the days ahead.  Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week leading up to the celebration of the Pascal mystery at Easter.  Next Thursday morning, families are invited to join us as students will lead us through the Stations of the Cross.  The event will be held outdoors to meet COVID restrictions and we would love to see many of you here.

Last night Kobi, Matilda and Lavinia celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the church.  This is always a special time in the school calendar and we congratulate the children and their families at this time.  Sacraments are a visible sign of God's presence and Reconciliation is about forgiveness and the repairing of relationships through the act of seeking forgiveness.    

Thank-you to the families who attended parent teacher meetings this week.  The teachers are appreciative of this opportunity to meet with you all and discuss your child's progress so far this year at St. Patrick's.  If you were unable to attend, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher to stay informed of your child's progress.  

A few families have asked about the reintroduction of paper based permission notes this year.  Last year we discontinued our use of the CareMonkey app as a result of the school tranisitioning to a new student management system.  The platform is called SiMON and is able to meet a range storage, management and communication of information requirements, including electronic permission forms.  As we roll SiMON out at St. Patrick's there will be the opportunity to again utilise electronic permission notes.
